Value Team
Portfolio managers Jim Schier and Mark Mitchell don't aim to
look like the benchmark. These "undiscovered" value managers invest
in companies that they believe are trading at a discount and have
the competitive edge to generate long-term profits. Both Jim Schier
and Mark Mitchell have earned the right to use the Chartered
Financial Analyst® designation and have been working together for
nearly 10 years.

James Schier, CFA
Portfolio Manager

Jim joined Security Global Investors (SGI) in 1995 as a senior
equity research analyst and has been managing SGI's Mid-Cap Value
strategy since 1997. Jim has also been responsible for managing
SGI's Small-Cap Value strategy as well as co-managing the firm's
All-Cap Value strategy since their 2008 inception dates. Jim has
more than 27 years of experience in the financial services
industry. Prior to joining SGI more than 10 years ago, Jim was a
portfolio manager with Mitchell Capital Management and a portfolio
manager and vice president with Fourth Financial. Jim began his
career as a research analyst at Stifel Financial and Mercantile
Trust, focusing on the retailing and financial services industries.
Jim holds a bachelor's of business administration with a
concentration in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and
an MBA from Washington University. He has also earned the right to
use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Due to his breadth of
industry knowledge, Jim has been widely quoted in the media,
including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg,
Investor's Business Daily and Barron's-which
recently described him as "The Prairieland Prophet."

Mark Mitchell, CFA
Portfolio Manager

Mark, who joined Security Global Investors (SGI) in 2002, is
responsible for managing Security Large Cap Value strategy and
co-managing Security All Cap Value strategy along with Jim Schier.
He has more than 22 years of experience in the financial services
industry. Before joining SGI, Mark was vice president and portfolio
manager at GE Asset Management (GEAM). Prior to this role, he held
several other positions at GEAM, including sector portfolio
manager/research analyst and senior financial analyst in the firm's
Taxable Fixed Income Group. He also held various financial analyst
positions at GE Capital. Mark holds a bachelor's degree in finance
from the University of Nebraska and he completed the GE Financial
Management Program (FMP). He has also earned the right to use the
Chartered Financial Analyst®
designation. Due to his breadth of industry knowledge, Mark has
been quoted in a variety of notable industry publications,
including SmartMoney, Worth Magazine and
Barron's.
