SGI portfolio strategists are heavily involved in product
development, distribution and sales within the investment
marketplace. They are often called upon to educate financial
advisors on the use of the funds or to provide high-level industry
expertise on the topics of asset allocation, alternative
strategies, target beta and other investing strategies.

As managing director and portfolio strategist, Tony's primary
focus is to provide strategic viewpoints on financial markets for
the firm's ETF and alternative investment business lines. In this
role, he is also responsible for developing, marketing and
positioning the firm's ETF and alternative investment strategies
and training key sales personnel on the use of these products. He
is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences on ETFs,
alternative investment strategies, asset allocation and hedge fund
strategies. Tony joined the firm from IndexIQ, where he was
executive vice president and head of distribution. There, he was
responsible for building and managing IndexIQ's distribution
business as well as for creating content, gaining platform
approvals and educating advisors about the role and use of their
unique solutions. Previously, Tony was managing director and
director of sales and training for Morgan Stanley's Consulting
Services Group. He was responsible for CSG's training programs,
including the CSG University Program, conducted at the University
of Chicago. He was also executive director and director of business
development for Graystone Wealth Management and senior vice
president and director for Morgan Stanley's Institutional
Consulting Group. Tony has authored several white papers on
investments, including: The Merits of Core-Satellite Investing,
Asset Allocation & Manager Selection: Adaptive Allocation and
The New World of International Investing and Alpha-Beta Separation,
among others. Tony holds a bachelor's degree in finance and
investments from Bernard M. Baruch College, and has earned the
Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the
Investment Management Consultant's Association (IMCA) and the
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He sits on the
board of directors for the IMCA, and is a board liaison for the
IMCA National Conference Committee. Tony is a frequent speaker at
industry conferences, including IMCA, Money Management Institute,
Investment Management Institute, Inside ETFs & the Super Bowl
of Indexing. He has earned FINRA series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.

Jerome Abernathy,
Ph.D.
Director of Research

As director of research, Jerome leads the research efforts for
new and existing products, especially alternative investments.
Jerome has more than 20 years of experience in the financial
services industry, including research, product development and
portfolio management. As part of SGI's quantitative investment and
product development/management teams, he is committed to delivering
high-quality, innovative alternative investment strategies to
financial intermediaries and institutional investors. Prior to
joining SGI, Jerome was founding partner and chief investment
officer at Stonebrook Capital Management, a New York-based
alternative investment firm. There, he developed and managed a
number of groundbreaking alternative investment products for
institutional investors. Previously, Jerome was director of
research at Moore Capital Management, Inc. Before that, he managed
the analytical trading group at Merrill Lynch, where he was
responsible for trading the firm's proprietary capital pursuant to
quantitative techniques. Jerome started his career as a trader and
member of the research group in the derivative trading group at
Morgan Stanley & Co., where he developed and traded
quantitative strategies in the derivative and currency markets.
Jerome holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from
Howard University as well as a master's degree and a doctorate in
electrical engineering and computer science from The Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
